• The doctor had a serious look on his face. “The patient suffered an injury to her hindbrain. Her life is out of danger for now, but we can’t guarantee if she will ever regain consciousness for the time being.”
• The three people at the door were startled for a moment. “W-What do you mean that it can’t be guaranteed?” Maria asked in a quavering voice before she suddenly grabbed the doctor’s arm. “Do you mean that my daughter might never regain consciousness for the rest of her life? Do you mean that she will go into a vegetative state?”
