Chapter 462 What Do I Mean to You?
- After Queenie left Wilcox's house, the contractions hurt too bad for her to even speak. She had to endure the pain all the way to the hospital before her driver helped her to the maternity clinic. The doctors there ran some tests on her before pushing her into the labor ward. Apparently, the fit that Queenie threw at Wilcox's house earlier had triggered her to go into premature labor. The few hours that she spent in the labor ward after that felt like hell to her.
- Queenie didn't have the energy to think about anything else when she was lying on the bed—all she wanted then was to get the child out of her belly. Unfortunately, the more anxious she felt, the harder it was for her to push the baby out. She was howling in pain for hours, yet her cervix barely dilated at all. In the end, the doctor had no choice but to bring her in for surgery.
- Her son was born in the wee hours of the morning. Queenie had passed out by the time her child was born, and she had no idea how she ended up in the ward after that. When she woke up, the first person she saw was her long-time confidant, Barlow Livesey. This man had been by her side for a long while—he left Australia with her and followed her into Evergreen Incorporated. When she left the company, he followed her as well.
