• Diane was worried when she saw how Wilcox shielded her so obviously. However, she wasn’t stupid enough to make him lose face in front of her superior by arguing with him on the spot. Therefore, she merely stood at one side and listened quietly to his arrangements for Mr. Bennet. After Wilcox finished his sentence and shot her a meaningful glance, she came out of the office with him.
• “Don’t burden yourself with anything.” Wilcox said before Diane could speak. “This matter has bad implications for the company, but we’ll get to the bottom of it anyway. You just have to do your job.”
