• Lily had the biggest grin on her face as she watched her parents exchange their vows. She had been so distracted throughout the process of preparing for the wedding that she actually almost forgot that her mother was going to walk down the aisle to finally get married to the actual love of her life.
• Her eyes flickered around the room, and they landed on Asher, who was already looking at her when the priest officially declared her parents as man and wife and the entire hall erupted into claps and cheers of joy.
• Asher's stomach tightened as he held Lily's gaze. A few days after he declared that he was going to propose to Charlotte, just so he could keep the secret, he felt like he had finally ruined all his chances with Lily, and when she spent the last few days ignoring him as much as she could, his suspicions were confirmed. But right now, as they both held each other's gaze as the crowd clapped and cheered for the newest couple, a glimmer of hope flickered at the pit of his belly.
