• "So..." Lily started, hoping to break the awkward silence as she and Asher walked back to the venue, and he turned to her with an arched brow. "Well, I never got the chance to thank you for saving my life and my baby's life." Her hand found her bump, and she rubbed it gently.
• Asher's eyes instantly went to the baby bump, and he swallowed. He wanted to tell her it was nothing.... He only saved the life of his lover, and a baby that was most likely his, instead his lips tugged in a small smile. "It was nothing."
