Chapter 56
- Asher stood by the window, looking out to the view of New York City. Seeing Lily today was painful, so painful it has dulled his senses to do any work. His fingers brushed against his phone in his pocket, and the urge to call Lily overwhelmed him. He immediately took his hands out and balled them into fists. This situation was the last thing he wanted but it was necessary.
- When he walked into the house of that asswipe, Morgan, all he wanted to do was pummel him to the ground with his fists, but he had suppressed his urge and kept a smile on his face. Talking to him casually about his gratefulness about the divorce and his new quest on getting married to his rightful wife, Charlotte, like he didn't want to shoot him dead was the second most difficult thing he had done in his life.
- He grinned his teeth and held back a barf at the memory. Getting married to Charlotte was the very last thing he wanted to do, talking so casually and fondly with Morgan made him feel like he was in the pits of hell getting burnt. Mrs Morgan was the only person who wasn't fond of his decision, and made sure to show that through her looks, but it didn't change how he felt about her. She was exactly the type of person to choose her marriage over her child. She has never defended her child, who needed it, so her glares meant nothing to him.
