Chapter 36 Vengeance
- Deep down, I wanted to throw the sandwich away and lash out at Roy. After all, my mother would still be alive if he hadn’t insisted on marrying me. However, my rational mind soon regained control over my emotions as I realized my anger and frustration wouldn’t help me to turn back time anyway. Neither would it help bring my mother back to life. If I don’t eat, I’m going to starve to death, and the Spencers won’t get what’s coming to them. Consumed by my vendetta, I started to wolf down all the sandwiches—one after another. However, when I was done with eating, I felt so stuffed that I was starting to feel uncomfortable; it was probably because I had been starving myself for too long.
- Then, Roy slipped his hand beneath my shirt and gently rubbed my belly to alleviate my discomfort. Feeling his warm palm on my stomach, my pain was slowly relieved, yet I blamed him for the suffering he made me endure. “Will you divorce me, Roy?”
- “Never,” he answered as he sounded firm.
