Chapter 37 Special Recognition

• John was the head of the company, a patriot who had returned from the States. He was a charming gentleman in his late forties and just as cultured as he was capable.
• I was under the impression that I would be heading to Vantage Corporation in the same car as Howard, but John unexpectedly beckoned me over and asked that I take the same car as him instead. Needless to say, I was taken aback by this generosity. He was, after all, the head of the company and I highly doubted that our paths would cross at all if it weren’t for the case at hand.
• “Shelly, there was an old woman who barged into the company and caused a scene the other day. She claimed to be your mother-in-law and said some very unkind things about you. Would you like to tell me what’s going on? You’ve only recently gotten married, haven’t you?”
