Chapter 129 A Joke

• There was no winner in this case. Once the trial was over, the reporters swarmed me, but Joseph didn’t want them to take any photos, so he escorted me out. As I sat in Nancy’s car, I saw the reporters swarming Joseph, Erwin, and Lena. Lena couldn’t escape, and she finally broke down and cried.
• Nancy took me away, while I leaned against the seat, staring outside dumbly. All I could think about was the judge’s decision. “According to the evidence and argument presented, and according to the nation’s law, I decree that the defendant is not guilty of attempted murder and slander. The actions were performed under influence of her mental state, and the court has decided to absolve her of any and all accusations.”
• Heh, Lena got away scot free just because she was hysterical when she tried to kill me. Nobody won this case, but nobody lost either. Joseph and Erwin’s win streaks weren’t broken, but I fell into an unending abyss.
