• In order to celebrate the upcoming New Year, Roy and I returned to the McGowan Manor—not because we wanted to, but because we were told by the elders to do so. Of course, upholding the occasion’s tradition of a heartwarming family reunion was also part of the reason why we decided to head back. It was my third visit to the McGowan Manor even though I could still remember what happened during my first and second visits.
