Chapter 145 You Talk Too Much
- Damian raised an eyebrow. “What?”
- I bit onto my lip before I continued. “I’m a complete newbie when it comes to the role of a secretary, President Ashcroft. You could have just looked for a professional secretary if you needed one—you wouldn’t have to waste all this time training me then. Yet, you took this longer route and even got Lori to spend her time training me. There must be some reason for this, right?”
- He responded with a bright smile. His smile made him seem friendly and approachable—I didn’t feel the difference in our position and status at all. He reminded me of Caleb in some ways, yet they seemed completely different in other ways. Caleb was fairer and his features were more delicate—he felt like a prince in white that couldn’t be tarnished by the slightest speck of dirt. Damian, on the other hand, seemed a lot more grounded and easy-going. It wasn’t that he was any less classy than Caleb; it was simply that he didn’t give off as strong of an aura as a boss. He was much easier to talk to—he showed no arrogance, his voice was calm, and his attitude was pleasant. I was able to ask the question only because my boss was Damian—I wouldn’t have had the guts to randomly ask such a question if I were interacting with any other boss.
