Chapter 55 The Sullen Wolf
- The wooden raft silently floated across the calm waters, slightly rocking occasionally as the fishes jumped in and out of the water, disrupting its calm. The water in the area where we currently are was filled with aquatic plants and the water on this side was blue-green, it wasn't as blue as the waters that awaited us in front. The shadows of the tree branches that stretched up above our heads appeared on the water. I looked back to where we came from, we weren't even half the width of the river but we were far from the shore. I squinted my eyes and looked ahead, but all I could see was shimmery blue; a vast expanse of water far ahead.
- It was quite exciting, even though I knew it was dangerous, even though I knew that Brenda's mum's life was at stake, I just couldn't quite tame the dim excitement that we were going to go to the lands of the humans; ordinary humans-
- You are no different from them, Brenda. You must have forgotten that you still can't transform. A voice in my head mocked.
