Chapter 27 Pack Conflict
- I stood at the table in my room staring at an old map and the book I so much cherished in my life. I had read it time and time again and the more I read it the more it intrigued me, the more its text mesmerized me, and the more I was enchanted by what Aariv describes as its propaganda.
- I was still trying to recall the rest of that night when I was little and what Aariv and my father were saying about a picture frame. It was odd to be fair, but if they say there was a picture frame that was important and was somehow linked with the books, then it was of utmost importance that I did all that was in my power to find that book.
- My wandering mind went to Brenda. By the day, I felt like she was slipping away from me, like we were becoming more distant just as me and Jason had become in recent times. Was there any chance that Jason would be my Beta again? After his attempted coup which when I remember, had too many faults that I still doubt if Jason did indeed stage that coup, I had stripped him of his duty as Beta but that had only made him closer to Brenda as she had so wantonly decided to follow him on every hunting and errand trip he went on.
