Chapter 18 A Bond Stronger Than Bullies

• The memories of the moments came flooding back to me: I was running around with other kids when I spotted a girl sitting in the corner, I immediately ran over to her.
• “Why are you sitting here all by yourself?” I asked the cute-looking girl who was my age. She just stared at me confused without saying anything, I began to think she was mute.
• “Are you okay?” I went further to ask. She was unusually silent; she still didn't respond to me. I determined in my heart and made it a goal to get her to talk. I sat beside her, she shifted from me and I drew closer. I talked away to tire her out until she talked, I asked her about everything.
