• Looking around at the heinous sights, scattered with the corpses of innocent werewolves my heart bled but at the same time my guts couldn't bear it. Seeing the familiar faces I once knew and talked to now is just something of a memory. Tears rolled down my eyes uncontrollably, there must have been a reason these wolves attacked. No one would attack and risk his life for nothing, at least no one in their right senses would attack for no legitimate reason. What was the meaning of all this? Was Alexa right? Could someone from our pack have hurt theirs because there was no other reason for such hostility? Even though I fight, the sight of blood and killing has never been a thing of enjoyment to me. I wasn't even sure if I could do this to another pack even if they hurt my pack. Jason and other mature men helped to move the bodies away, the wailing of survivors rang continuously in my ears as I crouched on the ground crying profusely. The Abode has always been the safest place for us and now it's been infiltrated, how was I ever going to say to the kids that the Abode was still the safest place when I had already begun to doubt it? The devastated look on the children whose parents died was heartbreaking. Alexa tried as much as she could to round them up and take them to where they wouldn't need to look at such a sight but the older kids wouldn't move. They were traumatized by what had played before them. Some had lost their entire family, others lucky enough to have lost just one or two members. Deep down, I knew that these pups small or big would never be able to get over this incident. I just hoped that it wouldn't affect their everyday life once all this was sorted out.
• “How do you think they'll feel if they see you crying like this?” Dominic stretched his hand out which I took. He pulled me up to my feet.
• “We know the situation is bad and everyone is feeling bereft but crying in front of the pups especially would make them feel even worse,” he was right but I still couldn't help it. They died unjustly and no one can still explain the reason for the sudden attack.
