Chapter 29 Desperate Stand

  • The sight was carnage. Even I with all my strength and experience never thought that the three goofiest individuals in the entire pack could hold so much weight.
  • They had been fighting for a very long time judging by the amount of bruises each of them had and by the fact that if you had not known them, there was no clear or even subliminal indicator that they had white furs. It was all dirty and covered in sweat, mud, and blood, not to mention the amount of intruders’ bodies that lay dead on the ground.
  • These guys were barely even alive: the way they fought now lacked agility and stamina and was now just the fundamental instincts to stay alive in times of adversity, sheer dedication to their jobs as gatekeepers, and an intense determination to make sure that all they had been fighting for in the beginning would not go to waste or end up being in vain as such, their steps were slow, their blows were weak, and their bites were close to futile. It was almost painful to watch.
