Chapter 32 Logan's Warm Breath (Thirty Two)

• The day Riley had been waiting for arrived. Today she would sneak out of Logan's house and welcome a new, better life. Since yesterday, she had been very excited and couldn't wait to welcome this day. She had already done some little research with Kaella for their plans for today. Kaella would be Jacob's distraction when she got into the trunk. Fortunately, the car that Jacob usually used to take Kaella to Essex Market was a van with a large luggage capacity. Kaella was used to shopping for a lot of things because she shopped for necessities for a week. So, Jacob always took the van with him and never replaced the car with anything else.
• Riley looked at her reflection in the mirror. She had been getting too excited since last night. She slept well, but she woke up early this morning. At four-thirty she had her eyes open and there was no way she could go back to sleep. She decided to take a warm bath and opted for more flexible clothes to use to escape, but that still protected her from the bone-chilling cold. She found a pair of jeans and a gray sweater. It had a high neck design which was great for hanging around outdoors. Since she would be sneaking into the trunk, she couldn't bring a jacket. She had to choose clothes that could practically warm her.
• At five thirty, Riley came out of her room. A little too early for breakfast. Kaella and Betty must not have prepared breakfast. She could take a walk around the garden to get some fresh air. It was good for refreshing her brain. She had calmed down a bit since last night. Logan didn't eat dinner with her. It gave her more relief because she could think about her escape plan more calmly. Logan always made her nervous. If Logan stood around her, it was as if he could read her mind. She was worried that Logan could indeed read her mind. Often she caught Logan looking at her intensely, then he would conclude something through his smart brain, and then come to a conclusion about what she was thinking. It was very scary. She couldn't tell Logan about her escape plan today.
