Chapter 18 Suspicious Man In The Yard (Eighteen)

• Riley leaned against the balcony railing after dinner with Logan was over an hour ago. She couldn't sleep. Her eyes weren't sleepy at all because she had slept too much since she was hospitalized. Actually she wanted to go to Logan's study and look for interesting books to read.
• But she was lazy to meet Logan. The atmosphere at the dining table felt very awkward and strange when they had dinner an hour ago. Logan was just silent, busy devouring his food without saying much. They didn't talk about raw fish anymore or the abhorrent vomiting incident. She occasionally felt Logan's gaze on her. It was like he was stripping her body which was clad in a tight, ankle-length dress. Then they both fell silent to concentrate on their respective food.
• Riley thought whatever came to mind at that moment. About her father's condition and his well-being after she left home. She really missed her father. She wanted to go home and meet her father just to hug him and kiss him on the cheek. The last time before her mother kicked her out, her father gave her a sad, resigned look. Her father could do nothing but watch her from a wheelchair in her frail and limp state. The disease had eaten away at her father very much. It was not only his health that became problematic, but all of his power and authority was also lost by the disease that was eating away at him from day to day.
