Chapter 24 I Just Watched Your Heart Skip A Beat

• My eye lids feel extra heavy. I try to move but my body’s feels like jello. I flutter my eyes open to see bright lights above me. They don’t look familiar. I look around taking in the monitors and everything else realizing I’m in a hospital room. I hate hospitals. I pull myself up a bit but my right hand feels like it’s trapped. I look over at it and that’s when see him. He’s hitting back in the chair next to the bed. His hands the only thing holding his head up while he’s sleeping. His feet pulled up and crossed over the side table next to me. And his other hand holding me. Gripping it more like. He looks so peaceful. It almost relaxes me a bit from my thoughts. Comforts me even. I sit back ignoring everything but him. And I just lay there and watch him sleep. It’s the first time I’ve seen him sleep.
• We’ve never shared a room through the night. I don’t want to wake him but I don’t want to take my eyes off of him. Hospitals make me panic, they scare me.
