Chapter 10 Business

• “You are mother!” My brother Marco chimes in, and I kick him from under the table. And his wife must agree because she swats him on the chest. He actually got a good one. She’s sweet and understanding and reminds me of my mother a lot.
• “Well I think you look amazing tonight Vale.” Reyna says and my mother’s eyes spark up. Alright this is definitely going to be bad if my family loves her too.
• “Don’t be such a suck up Reyna just cause you were never mom or dad’s favorite.” Her sister’s gusts out. I look at Reyna and she doesn’t give her sister a glance. But she looks tense. Especially by how she’s gripping the cup in her hand.
