Chapter 33

• Winona's eyes fluttered open slowly, squinting against the bright light. She wondered if she was already dead, in the presence of the Moon Goddess. A mix of happiness and disappointment washed over her. She still yearned for life, to meet that special someone people often spoke of.
• She had hoped to explore the human realm, to see if they would accept her or still consider her a witch. She had thought the witch's realm might accept her as one of their own, but it seemed the Moon Goddess had taken that opportunity from her.
• Feeling the soft, cozy fabric against her skin, she shielded her eyes from the bright light, allowing them to adjust slowly. Her hands remained on her face as she inhaled a captivating scent permeating the room. Could this be the scent of the Moon Goddess? It was so enticing!
