Chapter 116
- Winona found herself lying on the bed in the room that Eden had provided, her gaze fixed on the ceiling. Sleep had been eluding her for the past two hours, despite her best efforts to coax it. She had even tried counting the intricate patterns on the ceiling, but her eyes remained stubbornly wide awake.
- For reasons she couldn't quite comprehend, she had been unable to communicate with her wolf ever since she woke up submerged in water. As she absentmindedly curled the bed sheets in her fingers, she had a nagging feeling that it wasn't just her wolf ignoring her as she usually did. Her wolf had made an appearance in her unconscious state to aid her, so perhaps she was just recuperating as well, or something along those lines.
- Winona was also feeling an overwhelming sense of exhaustion and she was impatient for the dawn to break so that she could commence her search for her mate. However, sleep continued to be elusive and time seemed to crawl at an agonizingly slow pace. She cast a glance at the clock in the room and noted that it was already 3:40am. If she wanted to muster enough energy to find Noel today, then she desperately needed some sleep. She pulled the duvet over her body and squeezed her eyelids shut, hoping that sleep would finally claim her, but it continued to remain out of reach.
