• The cool night breeze slipped through the open window, gently caressing Winona as she lay on her bed. With a sluggish movement, she pushed off the duvet and found herself drawn towards the window. By the time her fingers were gripping the window frame, she was bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. This would be the last moon she would witness before her ascension to Luna Queen, a thought that sent her heart into a flutter.
• The preparations she had observed over the past few days had left her in a state of awe. Just the previous day, while she was looking for Noel, she had come across two maids carrying golden plates and other golden cutlery towards the kitchen. When she inquired about the purpose of such lavish utensils, they informed her they were for her mating ceremony. She was left utterly speechless. Those were just a few of the many extravagant preparations, and at some point, Noel had started hiding some of them to prevent her from becoming overwhelmed.
