Chapter 60

• "Release her. Take her to the infirmary." Once again, Dave's order shattered the cold silence of her dreadful cell.
• Two men stepped forward and promptly released her from the cuffs. The pain paralyzed her, causing her to fall face-first onto the cold, hard floor, but mercifully, the men caught her before her face met the floor. They carefully wrapped a white sheet around her, ignoring her cries of pain as the cloth made contact with her brutalized skin. More tears fell. More sobs had her body trembling, but the men ignored it. They led her out of the cell and down the corridor.
• The pain stinging her back was intensifying by the minute. It was becoming difficult for her to walk. And since these men didn't understand English, she decided to get their attention through her actions. Roselle allowed the pain to completely overwhelm her, rendering her incapable of walking, which resulted in her falling to her knees; the tears dripping from her eyes added to the effect.
