Chapter 37

  • Dylan let out a soft laugh. "You've become quite endearing to me, Firefly. Your vibrant personality and unconventional ways only make me cherish you more. What magic have you cast on me, my rainbow girl? You've filled my world with hues and mirth. And this - your unique character, only makes me want to cling to you even more. I'm never releasing you, sunflower; not even if you plead me to." He gently kissed her bandaged forehead.
  • After he expressed those sentiments, she felt a strong desire to kiss Dylan. He had just confessed that he appreciated her personality; he liked her for who she truly was. He didn't perceive her as insane or someone who needed to be institutionalized, he genuinely admired her. And he cared enough to tend to her wounds, something no stranger had ever done for her before. That meant a lot to her; for the first time, she didn't feel like she was insane, she felt valued, she felt accepted.
  • "Dylan?" She looked at him, trying to discern if he also wanted to kiss her.
