Chapter 13
- Two days had passed since Dylan had sent the note and candy, and so far, there had been no further contact from him. The fear that had previously consumed Roselle was now nowhere to be found. She was beginning to believe that Dylan was all talk and no action.
- She glanced at the clock and smiled, knowing that in half an hour she would get her break. The cafe was bustling with customers, and she was constantly running around taking and delivering orders. She felt a pang of guilt for not giving any attention to Skittles, her teddy bear. She had decided to bring Skittles to work because having her teddy bears with her always kept her in a good mood. Speaking of teddy bears, Dylan owed her a teddy bear. Maybe that was why he hadn't shown his face to her, he was afraid she would demand her teddy bear.
- When Venus first saw Roselle bring her teddy bear to work, she gave her a strange look; a look Roselle was used to receiving from people. It was the look that said people thought she was crazy. But people wouldn't understand her relationship with stuffed toys. However, Venus didn't stop her from bringing her bears; she had no problem as long as Roselle did her job properly.
