Chapter 27
- Gently pushing the door open, Dylan entered Roselle's bedroom, his eyes immediately landing on the bed. A small smile curved his lips as he gazed at his firefly from the doorway. The darkness did not hinder his vision; he could clearly make out Roselle's sleeping form as she frolicked in dreamland. Soon her dreams would turn into nightmares, and those nightmares would become reality. Oh, his sunflower, he would make her pay for all those times she forced him to be away from her. She would know that she messed with the wrong person. If only she could've given in, he wouldn't have to do what he was about to.
- Dylan reached Roselle's bed in less than two seconds. Trying his best not to wake her up, he sat on the bed as gently as he could. Even though he wanted to take a moment and look at his firefly, he knew he had little time. So without wasting another second, he opened his medical bag and took out a syringe, the small, glass bottle of the drug he was going to administer, some cotton soaked in antiseptic - he hoped the smell wouldn't wake her up - and a small flashlight.
- Sliding his hand under the comforter, he took hold of Roselle's arm and gently pulled it out. Right now, he thanked the higher power for making Roselle a sound sleeper. Placing her arm on his thigh, he turned on the flashlight and quickly filled up the syringe with the drug, before taking a cotton ball and rubbing it on her arm. Once that was done, he used the flashlight to locate a vein on her arm. Finally locating one, he carefully placed the needle on top of the vein - which was difficult as there was not much light and he had to be extremely careful with his firefly.
