Chapter 12

  • The following morning, upon waking, Roselle's first action was to check her apartment for any signs of intrusion. Armed with her trusty frying pan from the kitchen, she meticulously inspected her entire apartment for Dylan, scrutinizing every detail for anything out of place or unfamiliar.
  • Once satisfied that she was safe and no one had broken in, she prepared herself a comforting cup of coffee, and grabbed a pack of cookies from the cabinet for breakfast. She felt a sense of relief knowing that Dylan had indeed forgotten the way to her apartment. Now she could breathe freely. After nourishing herself, she headed to the bathroom for a shower.
  • Her shower was lengthy. She decided to postpone taking a bath until Merline returned, because without her twin, she felt unsettled, and she could only take a bath when she was at peace. The last time she took a bath was to find peace - and a way to rescue Merline, but not now. She had to sit and devise a solution herself.
