• The men guided Roselle into an elevator, and they descended to what she assumed was the basement. If Dave was keeping her sister in the basement, then he had some explaining to do. That was no way to treat a guest, no way at all! And she would make sure he knew it.
• When the elevator doors opened, she was led out. Her nose wrinkled as she eyed the basement, feeling dread coil in her stomach. The basement was the perfect place to torture people; she guessed Dylan worked here - torturing people was his forte.
• But she could not take in her surroundings. Right then, her sole focus was to get to Merline. So she allowed the men to lead her to God knows where. Eventually, they stopped in front of the barred, metal door at the end of the long corridor.
