• For several days, Rodger and Zoe had conversations about the trip to his grandfather's place. Ironing out their plans, the last thing they had to do was inform their parents of their ideas. With their parents' approval, Zoe picked up Rodger and drove them to visit Rodger's grandfather. Sitting in the car, Rodger turned to Zoe while she was driving, reassuring her, "You have nothing to fear!" He knew that a close family friend would be there. His Auntie was already to support Zoe and answer any questions she might have.
• The moment they pulled into the long, winding dirt driveway, Zoe's heart began to pound in her chest. Rodger's grandfather stepped into the clearing with a loving smile on his face. "Rodger has told me a lot about you, Zoe, but he never mentioned how beautiful you are!" He wrapped his arms around Zoe the moment she was out of the car.
