Chapter 22

• ~ July 31st - 4:10 PM ~
• Delilah and her siblings stood at the edge of the woods. It was clear by the little human's body movement that she could see them. Their eyes were wide! Some of them had their jaws hanging open, while others snickered at the tale the little human was telling. They were captivated as they absorbed the vivid account of the dangers lurking in the Northern woods. The little human spoke with a lot of sarcasm, painting a gruesome picture that would likely linger in the minds of the humans long after they left the area. It was clear that the humans understood the gravity of the warning: straying into the woods could be a dangerous mistake.
• A malicious smile blossomed on Delilah's face. "Oh, they have no idea of the pain they'll feel if they don't listen!" A sparkle danced in her eyes, and a giggle escaped her as she thought about what her father would do if they ignored the warning.
