Chapter 12

• ~ July 31st - 1:44 PM ~
• The road to the cabin twisted and turned. Drawing Zoe's attention with its natural allure. "This is even better than the photo's Sophia had showed me!" Zoe remarked as the tires rolled over the uneven dirt path. The motion of the car was causing both her and Rodger's bodies to bounce and sway with each dip they encountered. She motioned her head from side to side, taking in the lush surroundings. Noticing Rodger glancing upwards only to shield his eyes from the sunlight filtering through the dense leaves overhead. Causing the casting of dappled patterns on the ground.
• Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Zoe spotted a group of deer leaping through the underbrush. Their tawny coats blended perfectly into the forest surroundings. However, one deer caught her by surprise. A male albino deer was leading the herd. 'It is rare to see a wild albino ... anything ... survive into adulthood. From what I've read, they often don't live that long,' she thought. A smile blossomed on her face as she whispered to herself, "Perfection!" Zoe had two favourite animals that always captured her mind, body and soul ... ravens and deer. 'Now all I have to do is spot a raven, and this trip is worth every second of being here!' she internally giggled like a schoolgirl.
