Chapter 34

• ~ August 1st - First ray of light ~
• Her eyes opened, with the morning light beginning to greet the world. Zoe laid in her bed, listening to the morning birds singing outside. “I could stay here forever!” she whispered as she slowly got out of bed. Zoe quickly changed into her clothes and grabbed her jacket, zipping it up. Feeling a chill, she decided to start the fire pit.
• Carefully, she crept down the steps, fully aware of her surroundings. She was determined not to disturb Rodger or Melody. As she glanced toward the table, she noticed that her camera and satchel were missing; in fact, they were nowhere to be found. Frowning, she decided to wait for Ella or Sophia to wake up so she could ask where they had been placed. However, Zoe believed she had something more pressing to attend to than searching for her camera and satchel. At that moment, her thoughts had gone to Felix. She needed to find Felix and let him know that she was leaving, along with giving him her address so he could find her easier.
