Chapter 28

Whispers had erupted, and Felix's family could not help but watch the young girl jog down the path he had shown her. Some snickered with amusement. While others were still confused. Rowen and a few of their siblings glared with irritation. The Keeper had strolled off the field and into the woods. Suddenly, he transformed; his demeanour became unreadable. "Is that the girl?" he asked, glancing at his oldest son.
There was no denying it, Felix was on cloud 9. A wide grin lit up Felix's face. His eyes had a shimmer of delight. "That's her! My Zen!" he exclaimed. His enthusiasm was contagious. Radiating the location like sunshine. "I can't believe I finally found her!" His gaze flicked over the trail ahead. "She doesn't even realize it yet, but she's destined to be mine!" With warmth, he turned back to his father, "I am going to make her my wife!" his declaration rang with certainty.
