Chapter 5 Rage

  • Silas tightened his grip on Sia’s neck, anger fraying inside him. He couldn’t believe his own brother bequeathed all his property to Sia.
  • Silas was never a brother to Mr. Monson, he was one of his biggest foes. His adversary.
  • Despite the fact they are brothers, though from different mothers, he was a thorn in Mr. Monson’s flesh.
  • Silas wanted nothing but to take Mr. Monson down and impound his property so he can become the ruler.
  • All through these years, Silas collaborated with a few elders of the Monson’s family to take Mr. Monson down. But it appears in whatever war they fought, Mr. Monson got the upper hand and Silas keeps failing in all his attempts.
  • Nevertheless, it’s a tradition in the Monson family that all the property held by the heir should be relinquished to the immediate younger brother but Mr. Monson didn’t acknowledge the customs. The norms of the Monson family.
  • Heck!
  • He transferred all the property to Sia.
  • A woman at that!
  • She’s not a member of the Monson family. She’s just a girl he picked up from the street.
  • “I’ll kill you, Sia!!” he spouted in a fit a rage.
  • Cough**
  • “S…stop…i… it…” Sia struggled for breath, hitting Silas anywhere she could lay her hands on.
  • His face, head, cheek, arms. Anywhere.
  • “Please, Mr. Silas, stop. You'll kill her.” His attorney said, trying to pull him away from Sia.
  • “No…this bitch jinxed my brother. How could she?” he spat rashly, his eyes turning red in rage.
  • He wants to take over. He wants to rule the Monson family but that dream has been crushed all because of a woman.
  • A mere woman!
  • Silas wasted no time to return to Florida the moment the news about Monson’s death circulated.
  • That day he was literally the happiest man on earth. He went to club, boozed, fucked women and sprayed money on them just because of the wealth he believed he was on the brink of acquiring.
  • Sia was almost losing it. She was almost dying as her pupils moved heavenward but luckily, the two attorneys pulled Silas away.
  • Just then, she sucked in a long breath of air. Her hands encircled on her beet-red neck. She flashed her weak eyes at Silas who was throwing everything he could lay his hands on the floor.
  • “Arghhh!!!” Silas screamed, barked like a dog. He howled like a wolf whilst hitting his hands on the settee.
  • He threw all the cushions on the settee away, howling. Before long, he moved to the bar and began throwing all the bottles of wine stacked in the rack.
  • “Silas!!” Sia screamed his name the moment he began throwing the expensive wines away. Fear encased her because she knows what he’s capableo of.
  • If not for the two attorneys here, Silas would have smothered her to death.
  • He would have killed her.
  • *
  • “If ever I hear about what transpired between us today from my brother I’ll kill you.” He warned in his deep, dark voice.
  • Sia was jittering, her lips quivering as she held her dress tight around her chest. Her hair was disheveled.
  • “You hear me!?” His voice sent shivers down her spine and in response, Sia nodded.
  • “Ye…yes. I won’t tell him. Anything.” She assured in between sobs.
  • “Good girl. I like you a lot. And I’ll soon make you mine so we both will rule the Monson’s family.”
  • He raised his callused fingers and caressed her cheeks, smiling at the feel of her skin on his fingertips.
  • “That’s my baby. We will take over the family together, love. You and I!” he drawled and casted his lips on hers, sucking life out of Sia.
  • She cried inwardly as Silas hovered over her. She can't scream because no one can hear her. Every room in the Monson villa is soundproofed. The servants don’t know what usually happen whenever Silas comes to this villa.
  • Sia can’t tell Mr. Monson what she faces in his brother’s hands because her life is on the line. She’s scared to death.
  • *
  • As these memories flashed through her mind again , fear tried to creep into her again.
  • ‘No Sia, you’re not that frail, weakling girl anymore. Years have passed, you don’t have to fear him again. You’ve to stand your ground and fight. Fight for yourself, Sia.’ Her inner thoughts spewed.
  • The moment he heard her shout his name, Silas squelched throwing the bottles away and glanced at her direction, shocked.
  • Where did she muster the courage to talk to him like that? He wondered.
  • “Did you just shout my name?” he asked, striding toward her.
  • Sia was cowering. Scared but she refused to let it show on the outside. She put on a strong façade, her eyes burning into his as he drew closer and nabbed her neck again.
  • “You think, I’m that frail girl you knew before, Silas? Huh…I’m not that girl anymore and you'll do nothing.”
  • Shocked, Silas hoisted his hand to hit her on the face but his attorney stopped him.
  • “Mr. Silas, don’t. This is an abuse!” the man shouted.
  • Sia chuckled. ‘if only he knew how he has been abusing me.’ She mumbled, inwardly.
  • “Fuck!!!” Silas cursed as he slid his hand off of her neck.
  • He ran his hands through his hair in frustration and anger.
  • “Please let’s discuss outside Mr. Silas.” His attorney suggested.
  • Silas hesitated, he turned back and glared at Sia, she fixed her eyes on his, unflinching.
  • “Fine.” He growled and trod behind his attorney.
  • “Are you okay, Mrs. Monson?” asked Mr. Monson’s attorney.
  • Sia nodded, breathing heavily. “I’m good. Thanks.”
  • “This isn’t a good sign. Your brother in-law might want to confiscate everything from you. But, I won’t let that happen. I’ll make sure I keep these papers safe.” The attorney assured.
  • “Thank you. I appreciate it.” She worded, head angled downwards.
  • “I'll be on my way now. Bye, Mrs. Monson.” The attorney left and immediately, Sia’s head servant pranced toward her.
  • “Are you okay, Mrs. Monson?” she asked, voice muffled.
  • Everyone that witnessed what transpired now became more afraid of Silas.
  • He could do anything when he's angry and when he’s not.
  • “I’m good. Just get me an aspirin, Michelle.” Sia ordered and the woman zoomed off.
  • On a whim, Michelle returned with a glass of water and a blister card of aspirin. She handed it to Sia and she immediately downed the aspirin with the glass of water.
  • Her head is banging.
  • Her body weak.
  • “Call Mark and the rest of servants to tidy up this mess.” She said as she stood up from the couch to ascend the stairs to her room.
  • Meanwhile, Silas and his attorney were still broaching
  • outside. You could see the green veins that caked Silas’s temple.
  • “I can’t believe this. I just can’t. How can he violate the family's rule?” he asked, precipitately running his hands in his hair.
  • The attorney slowly swiped Silas’s spittle that perched on the bridge of his nose when he spat just now.
  • “Uh…Mr. Silas, you’ve got to take things easy. Else, you’ll lose the tinge opportunity you have in winning this war. Because this is war.
  • Your brother, Mr. Monson deliberately relinquished everything to his wife. Yes.” The attorney sputtered, shrugging.
  • “How could he?” Silas’s lips scrunched up.
  • “It’s obvious, you doesn’t acknowledge you as his brother. I’ve seen cases like this, Mr. Silas.”
  • Silas lashed his eyes at the attorney and asked, “Can you assure me? Can you assure me of getting these property as mine?”
  • The attorney stiffened, “well, ummm…the thing is Mr. Silas, there’s no guarantee that we will win this fight. But I’ll help in the little ways I can.”
  • “I need assurance. I need to be sure I’ll get this property.”
  • “Oh, fine then, Mr.Silas .”
  • The attorney is clouded by fear so he had to respond even though he’s not sure.
  • “Perfect, in this game. You’re my cloud of trust. Don’t fail me. Otherwise you and your family will bear the brunt.” Silas’s menacing words seeped through the attorney’s veins.
  • The man nodded and made a beeline to his car. Then he zoomed off from the villa.
  • Immediately after the attorney left, Silas’s phone rang. He shoved it out from his pocket and swiped the receiver.
  • “How did it go?” A woman’s voice sounded.
  • “He transferred everything to her. He gave her the power to rule this family.” He growled.
  • “That bastard!!” the woman from the other end cursed. You could perceive the anger evident in her voice.
  • “He just declared a war!! But his little wife will suffer the most.” Silas howled.
