Chapter 29 Irritation

  • Sia yawned deeply when she stirred from sleep and stretched her limbs before swinging her feet on the floor.
  • Sia immediately used her mouthwash and fitted on her sports leggings and bra with Nike sneakers. She gathered her hair in a Ponytail before creeping out of the room.
  • As usual, the servants that came across her greeted and she responded with a wee hum and a slight nod.
  • Luckily today, Michelle isn’t there to nag and complain about her stressing herself like she always does. So Sia gladly thanked God. She gave Michelle a day break likewise a few other servants. Prolly, before returning from her usual roadwork Michelle would be back.
  • Different from other days, Sia saw many people that came out for roadwork from their estate and she got company from some of those men and women.
  • However, none of them knows her true identity because they haven’t seen her face nor the compound she slid out from since the sun is yet to emerge in the sky.
  • The most beautiful thing she enjoyed about their company is the small talk they made until they got to a big gym house a few streets away from theirs.
  • Sia exercised with the dumbbell, treadmill, leg extension machine, and pull-down machine. When the sun begins to paint the sky, she excused herself and strode outside the gym house. She called on a cab and drove home in it.
  • By the time she returned to the villa, Michelle was already there as she had predicted.
  • Shaking her head, Sia gave a curt response to her greetings while making a trail to the stairs.
  • “I wasn’t expecting to see you so early, Michelle,” Sia said when she reached the middle of the stairs.
  • “It’s a new week, Mrs. Monson so of course I should come early and resume work.”
  • Sia heard Michelle’s words booming on the stairs. She swung her head in a nod before sliding into her room and slamming the door shut behind her.
  • She crawled to the washroom brushed and bathe quickly.
  • 8:00 am.
  • She read out when her eyes met with the clock. Sia applied her skincare routine and moved into her boudoir in search of something nice she'd wear to work.
  • No matter how sophisticated and exposed Sia claims she is, the level of confusion that blankets her once she creeps into her boudoir in search of clothes is unexplainable.
  • That’s because hundreds of clothes, shoes, and bags lay in wait for her. That’s to say, Sia hardly wears cloth twice within the space of six months. If she wears one dress today the next time she'll put it on might be in the next six months. The same goes for her bags, shoes, and jewelry.
  • After much raking for the perfect dress to put on, she resorted to a plain black curvy skirt that's slightly below her knee which outlined the curves of her hip and waist. A silky white V-neck shirt that she tucked into her skirt. A black customized bag and black peep-toe heels.
  • Then she combed her brunette hair, letting it cascade down her shoulders. Afterward, she strolled downstairs and hastened to the car without nibbling on the food Michelle made because she’s already late to work.
  • Before Sia reached the company Liam was already there, fixing a few things in her office, and by the time she ploded into the office, Liam was already done with the arrangements.
  • When she cracked the door open, their eyes met and Liam’s held that usual glint in them that Sia prefers to ignore.
  • “Good morning, ma’am. Welcome.” Liam greeted, still not straying his eyes from Sia.
  • “Thank you. I need a cup of coffee.” While saying this, Sia craned her head and their eyes locked once again. This time she felt chill skitter down her spine but was quick to rid it off.
  • “I'll get it, ma’am…”
  • Sia cut him off with her words
  • “There’s a restaurant a few miles away from here I need you to get it from. I just want to have a taste of their coffee.” She rambled on while Liam pinned his eyes on her moving lips.
  • “W…what’s the name of the restaurant?” He asked, peeling his eyes off of her face to find a bit of concentration.
  • “Anything For Macalista is the name. You can ask around if you haven’t heard about the place.” She uttered then began to fumble with the Apple desktop on her table.
  • However, the name Macalista struck Liam’s ears, leaving him battling with thoughts about the familiarity of the name.
  • Seeing how transfixed Liam was, Sia called out his name pulling him out of his dazed state.
  • “Liam! Anything amiss?” She asked, her brows hitched up.
  • “Um…not at all ma’am. I have heard the name of the restaurant but haven’t been there…”
  • “Well, you'll now. Please hurry.” Sia urged and Liam dashed off immediately to get the coffee.
  • He took a cab heading to the restaurant. However, the cab driver couldn’t stop rambling about how expensive the restaurant is and only rich people in the city if not the country can afford a cup of coffee there to talk more of eating their dishes.
  • “You’re rich I assume. I’ve always imagined being at the restaurant one day. I want to take my daughter there on her birthday.” Said the cab driver.
  • Liam chortled when he heard his first sentence, “I’m not rich, sir.” He countered respectfully.
  • “Really? Then you must be one of the admirers wanting to get a glimpse of the popular cave restaurant
  • in the city.” The driver said to the best of his knowledge but Liam didn’t spew words this time, except grinning.
  • “My daughter wants to see how the restaurant looks and I’m saving up so I can take her there on her birthday.” The driver rattled on.
  • “You should take her there if she wants to see how it looks.” Liam agreed.
  • “She dreams of having a restaurant like that sometime in the future.” The driver babbles.
  • “That’s a big dream she has right there. You should support her.” Liam encouraged.
  • They continued broaching until they got to the restaurant. Liam alighted and handed the driver the dollar notes Sia gave her.
  • He oscillated his eyes around the restaurant’s surrounding until it landed on the name written on a bold board above the door.
  • “Anything For Macalista.” He read aloud and then started feeling knots in his stomach.
  • Liam trod inside the restaurant, still drinking in the exquisite design and how organized and polite the workers were.
  • “What would you like to have sir?” One of the baristas at the counter of the coffee section asked, obstructing Liam’s eye feast.
  • Swinging his head back to the counter he said, “a cup of hot coffee.”
  • “Noted. Please have a seat it'll be ready within a few minutes.” She said, gesturing for Liam to have a seat.
  • “Why does that name sound utterly familiar? Macalista? I think I’ve heard the name somewhere but where?” Liam whispered under his breath.
  • Before he could gleam his thoughts together, the barista already packaged the coffee for him.
  • “Done sir.” She said aloud and Liam stood up handing her a few dollars note.
  • Liam dashed off the restaurant and boarded a cab back to the Monson group.
  • By the time he arrived at the office, a man was walking out of the office with a smirk on his face. Liam doesn’t know who he is but he could sense something bizarre about him, especially the smirk on his face.
  • When he walked inside, he saw Sia pacing back and forth, irritated about something.
  • Without being told, Liam already knows it might be the man he saw at the door that got Sia pissed off.
  • “Here ma’am.” He said extending the cup of coffee in his hand to Sia.
  • Sia harshly snatched it from him, and blew some air on the lid before downing some quantity.
  • “I need privacy.”Sia spat, waving Liam off.
  • Hearing Sia’s order, Liam dashed off the office.
  • 🌹Twenty Minutes Ago🌹
  • Sia heard a faint knock on the door with Rebekah’s voice pealing from the other side so she let her in.
  • “Ma’am, I want to inform you that Silas Monson is at the company’s entrance making a fuss because the security insisted he should follow due process before coming to the CEO's floor.” Rebekah detailed and Sia smirked.
  • The due process requires Silas to wait in the queue at the general reception hall to get his visiting card before coming to the CEO’s floor to get the main permit from the receptionist to enter the CEO's office.
  • Silas saw that as a huge slap on the face and began to create a scene.
  • “Let him in,” Sia said coldly and Rebekah bowed her head before leaving to invite Silas.
  • Immediately he got the door, he barged on it and fluttered it open with a loud clatter.
  • “How dare you impose such rules Sia when you’re not even the owner of the company huh?” Was Silas’s first string of words when he entered the office, sweating.
  • “The will my husband signed demised all the rights and ownership of the company to me, Silas. So you see where the temerity comes from? Oh, I guess you don’t know that but this smidge explanation has clarified you.” Sia crossed her leg and hands while speaking.
  • “You’re daring me, Sia. You’re touching a sleeping Lion on its tail. But when it wakes up, you won’t like how it’ll devour you and shatter you into shreds.” Silas worded, eyes burning into Sia’s.
  • “Call it whatever you like Silas, but I call it setting new policy in my company.” She said, dragging her attention back to the computer and began typing on it. “So, what in Pete’s name brought you here in my company?” She asked, dragging her eyes at Silas and back to the computer.
  • “Company…huh? That’s pretty cool.” Silas doff his hands from his pants pocket and sat down on the seat across from Sia.
  • He pinned his elbow on the glass table and supported his chin with the pad of his palms.
  • “Well, we’re going to have a meeting in the family in two months' time…”
  • “What meeting?” Sia asked, cutting Silas off.
  • Meeting?
  • Sia knows that anything concerning a meeting in the Monson family is nothing but a ploy against her and Mr. Monson but Mr. Monson is dead now. So that means the ploy is against her.
  • Sia wonders what it all is. What did they plan against her?
  • “I’m not in the position to explain that. The elders sent me to inform you ahead of time. So love, be prepared.”
  • After saying this, Silas stood up and gravitated to Sia’s side. Sia was already lost in thought and scared about the agenda of the meeting. She was so lost that she didn’t know when Silas pressed his lips to hers.
  • At that sudden contact of their lips, Sia’s mind jolted back and she pushed Silas away from her reflexively.
  • “Ouch…that was rude. But not to worry, I'll forgive your silly mistakes, love.” Silas worded, smirking.
  • “I'll take my leave, love. We shall see some other time.” He winked at her and made his way to the door where he and Liam coincidentally met.
