Chapter 58
- Claudia
- I call out to the nurse to come as I move as fast as I can towards where Richard is, tears running faster as I see him moving, searching for me. When I finally reach his side, I realize he has his eyes closed and is moving as if he's having a nightmare, looking vulnerable and defenseless. My heart breaks into ten thousand pieces, with Mrs. Montero's alarmed voice in the background asking what's happening, but I can't bring myself to leave his side.
- I take his hand and squeeze it with a little force, hoping he feels my touch and calms down knowing I'm here by his side. He looks like a lost child in a vast world of loneliness, where I became his light without knowing he became my lighthouse, my lifeline, he became everything to me.
