• I listen to every word my friend says as she continues talking about my husband’s exploits. She tells me about a case that was broadcast on television against the leader of a criminal organization, who, thanks to Richard, was sentenced to life imprisonment for charges of money laundering, illegal arms, and drug trafficking, kidnapping, and the murder of many people. Never in my life would I have imagined that I would be in any way related to someone as important as him.
• But as much as I am excited to learn all these things about him, I still want to distance myself even though my heart tells me I am wrong and begs me to come back. I don’t know how this can happen when I have only known him for five days, just discovered more about him, both his private and personal life. I don’t have a balance point to create an idea of what he is really like, because no matter how hard I try to see him as Mrs. Clara describes, I only manage to see an idiot with delusions of grandeur who is also very attractive.
