Chapter 17
- Richard
- It’s been almost ten days since Claudia left. I was barely with her for three days at most, and I don’t understand why her absence weighs on me. It’s as if I had spent so much time by her side that I got used to seeing her, but I know that wasn’t the case. Every memory of us together is either arguing or in total silence. There’s nothing pleasant to remember about her, not a smile or a kind look, nothing from her except for the hatred that emanates from every pore towards me.
- Although these days haven’t been just a loss, my grandmother’s lawyer came to take my DNA samples for the test. I am calm because I know the results. However, I understand Mrs. Montero’s doubts. She can’t trust the word of just anyone who comes and tells her they are family. She possesses a fortune that many covet and, aside from her age, the lucidity with which she manages the companies, Montero makes it clear the strength of her spirit.
