Chapter 58

  • I couldn't focus on the dinner. It was Paula who probably noticed it but chose not to say anything but she kept on throwing glances at me with a slight frown. I was being unfair to Lovie because this night was very important for her and I should be eagerly joining the conversation but I simply couldn't force myself to. Learning about Parker's interview had a great impact on me and my mood.
  • I didn't expect to see Caleb today because I knew he had a lot of meetings but I was hoping that he would at least send me a text message. I am quite sure now that he had seen the interview. It was like wishing for the moon if I thought he won't know about it but I was praying hard that he wasn't raving mad.
  • I had a good excuse to at least be away from the merry chat which sadly I couldn't find myself to join when it was time for dessert. Paula volunteered to get the sweets and I gladly said I would help her. We had barely reached the kitchen when she pulled me into the room so we could be out of view. I didn't even protest nor show surprise since I knew she was dying to talk to me.
