Chapter 44
- "You don't have to say yes you know. Parker is using his grandmother to get you back. How pathetic!" Paula gave a cluck of annoyance.
- Lovie was just quiet as she sat on the backseat. I was on the shotgun seat. We were on our way to a bar which was in the city. My cousin convinced us to go since she just came back to the country. and she wanted to blow off steam. There was no nightlife where we were staying. I nipped my bottom lip and didn't respond. I let them know about it because I felt I owed it to them.
- "Well I have to agree with Paula, Millie. It's all up to you. But your ex's grandmother is partly correct too. I mean, I know some people who turned over a new leaf after losing someone," Lovie said but Paula made a sound of disapproval so she laughed lightly," okay maybe not Parker. You know him better," she joked as she playfully tapped my shoulder.
