Chapter 38

(Flashback: an hour ago)
After Paula and I talked, I didn't know what came to me but I just suddenly rummaged in my small drawer and took my old sim card. I stared at it for a while before heaving a sigh then got my dual sim phone so I can insert it in the sim slot. I was maybe still hoping that I got some messages from people I didn't block. Besides, it had been only a month so I could probably still receive the most recent ones. After I put it in, I decided to take a quick shower and just check for any messages after I readied myself for my meeting with Ava.
When I checked my phone, there was nothing. Shrugging off the feeling of disappointment because I didn't have any messages, I put my phone in my bag and decided to leave. Paula was already in her car waiting for me.
