Chapter 27 - The Bitch Arrives

  • This chapter is dedicated to Elizabeth for making me put on my seatbelts and type this :)
  • -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Zara
  • Ladies and most Gentlemen cackled at each other’s conversation. The feast was warming enough. This was the reason for the sanguine air in the atmosphere. After being guided by Zack, the feast appeared to be perfect. The hall was lit with different colorful white lights. There were lots of meals. I made truffles a special one because I loved them.
  • However, the room was backed up with skillful violinists who played solemn and sensational music. We had told the DJ to take over when it was time for the royal dance. It was an event that featured soon-to-be couples and couples to dance on the dance floor, getting to know each other.
  • Then it happened. I saw someone who dressed almost like a Shaman enter the hall. Her hands were with black beads. Eyes, outlined with dark pencils to irradiate her dark pupils.
  • Esmeralda.
  • I thought.
  • Something about her made me think of that name. Though she appeared younger than I expected. Anyway, what to expect when she was just the king’s step mother. Rumors had it that she had raised him after killing the king’s real mother but I didn’t know how true that was.
  • A clink sound was made by the queen with her nails on the wine glass. The music had stopped earlier. She had done this to draw the attention of the crowd in the ballroom. She was uniquely dressed as a queen would. In a flamboyant dress that was spread out from her waist downwards.
  • It was a v-cup dress that moderately exposed an amount of cleavage. The most of it all was the feathers that raised like a peacocks’ own that erected just from the base of her neck at the back.
  • “Greetings to you, my subjects on this special day. We all know why we’re here today. To remind you, we are here to celebrate the dowager’s arrival. Ladies and Gentlemen, kindly applause Esmeralda who is in our midst today.” She encouraged. A large applause erupted from the stage. To thoroughly supervise that nothing goes wrong in the party, I wasn’t seated on my throne.
  • From the midst of the crowd, I examined Esmeralda’s appearance. I remembered Maryann’s word when I had said I would like to meet her. “I hope you never do, she’s worse than nightmare itself.”
  • The statement replayed in my head over and over again. I watched her, narrowing my eyes at how she laughed and related with the people on the high table. I kind of found it hard to believe that something poisonous lurked beneath her. Beneath the smiles she made out…
  • I got distracted by a scent. A pure alluring scent I had always loved.
  • Truffles.
  • I sniffed the air and wandered to where they might possibly be. I came to an abrupt halt in front of a part of the cooks. They were in charge of all confectioneries. My heart stopped a beat. I saw them. With their chocolate brown body and the covering at the top that dripped down.
  • Sleek.
  • Just how I loved it. I lifted my hands and reached for it. The worker-in-charge bowed politely, asking if he should stock a whole lot of them and come give me on the high table. I dismissed that saying, where would be the fun?
  • This made him laugh as he continued his distribution. I took some truffles letting out a moan as I chewed and swallowed…
  • “Never took you to be a huge fan of desserts?” Someone asked. I looked back, sighting Lucas. He was clothed in a corporate regalia that totally depicted the kind of gentleman he was.
  • “Well, what can I say? I am.” I replied with my lips curving in a smile. He chuckled adorably at me.
  • “Care for some?” I asked him with my occupied mouth.
  • “You really are trying to kill me. I’m allergic to milk, Zara.” He replied politely. My head couldn’t help but wander to when we both had coffee that day.
  • “Oh, I’m sorry about that. Did you go milk free that day at the library when we took coffee?” I asked, intensely startled.
  • “Yes, I did.” He responded. After that response, he excused himself, saying he had a call to attend to urgent issues.
  • I ended up getting mixed up in the crowd, socializing and getting to know people. Not that I fit in— I only could try. And, besides, everyone wanted to know how it was like to be a princess in the Royal palace of Spain.
  • “Lost, dear?” A husky voice chimed in my ears. It spread chills down to my spine. I looked behind me only to find Zack.
  • I hadn’t realized how much I had missed him. I wanted him to be here. Just right by my side. Forever and always. Was that even possible?
  • “Does it look like I am?” I adamantly asked. The fact I had fallen head over heels in love with him didn’t mean I should behave like a puppet.
  • “From the look of things, yes. Let me guess, you missed me?” Zack asked. His cockiness just amazed me!
  • My God, where did he get that shirt? I loved the way it hugged his muscles. Oh, I could run my hands through them all night and day!
  • “You wish.” I savagely responded. I’ve always been the one to play hard to get. Just at that moment, the DJ found it right to play one of my favorite songs. It titled, Wow by Zara Larsson. I took a glimpse at Zack. I’m about to walk away, but he holds my hand back. I stare at him fiercely with my piercing eyes.
  • His response is a seductive smirk that could make me go crazy right here. I really wished I could kiss that smirk better. He makes me face him. Taking the back of my palm, he kisses it. His hot breath fanned across my hand. It left a reaction from my body making me moan inside.
  • “May I have this dance?” He asked with his killer looks. I loved the way his features marked properly with his face. As if, the creator himself sat down to carefully carve out his whole structure.
  • “Yeah.” I curiously replied. I was so desperate about how it was going to turn out. I had never danced with him before. Normally, I couldn’t dance. I silently hoped I wouldn’t make a fool out of myself. “But be warned, I can’t dance.” I admitted. I felt weird that I expressed my emotions to him. If anything, I found that difficult.
  • “It’s okay, just flow with the rhythm. Be free and follow my lead.” Zack assured. He wrapped his hand around my waist, pulling me close. I remembered his words, “Be free and follow my lead.”
  • I did exactly just that. He twirled me around. As I did the twirl, my mind wondered to something.
  • Serenity.
  • It felt calm.
  • Like I was in the best place in the world. I realized something. Zack arms were my safe place.
  • Wrapping me in his arms, he did some unique steps with his feet, then his body. He went moving back, as if calculating his steps. I could never had guessed he could dance.
  • His hands came forward, taking mine. He made me step right while he went left, then we interchanged. Zack grabbed my waist again. I went ahead with my hands around his neck. This action pulled me closer to him. I could feel my nipples harden as my breasts brushed his chest.
  • I wondered if I was the only one who felt this chemistry… So intense, so loving and anything that went in between. I think that action left a huge reaction from him. I could feel him from beneath my clothes as he drew closer too. This heated my core with pleasure— it thereby throbbed. His breath fanned the skin above my lips as he inched closer.
  • Unable to hold it anymore, I kissed the living day lights out of him.
