“Mr. Parker, here is the footage that I got from the surveillance camera that I installed in Lauren’s cell in order to observe her behavior. Would you like to watch it now?” the doctor asked when he noticed the unusual expression on Ethan’s face.
Nevertheless, Ethan’s figure remained stiff as he sat in place, until Kobi whispered something in his ear. Then, he lifted his head to meet the doctor’s gaze and nodded. Upon acknowledging Ethan’s permission, the doctor played the footage that Ethan wanted to view in the archive room. As soon as he saw Lauren appearing in the footage, he was instantly overwhelmed and suffocated by an unbearable stab of agony.
In the footage, Lauren was seen sitting in the corner of a dark room with no windows, save for a small door. She appeared to be sitting with her back on the wall while curling up by hugging her knees. The cell was quiet, but the silence was soon broken when the lady was seen bashing her forehead against the wall as she seemed to be murmuring something. However, her words were interrupted by someone in there before she smiled and continued bashing her forehead against the concrete wall again and again. At the sight of that, Ethan stood up in a rigid manner with his hands hanging loosely beside his thighs, while his eyes were filled with indescribable pain and torment.
