Karma? Lauren couldn’t help but let out a scoff. This sure is my karma for falling for a heartless man! Lifting her gaze to look at the man before her, she laughed before hurling insults at him. “You’re right, Ethan Parker! While I did receive my karma, my biggest mistake is to have met you when I did! I must’ve committed some unforgivable sin to deserve meeting a willfully ignorant man who wound up taking advantage of my kindness before ruining my life!”
Upon hearing what Lauren said, Ethan sneered at her before reaching out to pinch her chin in his hands while he spat, “How dare you claim to be kind and innocent? My mom’s death and Nancy’s injury—”
“Will you treat Nancy the same way you did me if you found out that she is the one guilty of your mother’s death instead of me?” She let out a chuckle which tainted her pale lips with scorn. “How will you repay me if you find out the truth some day, and that I have nothing to do with your mother’s death? I will assure you that there is no way in hell you can do that!” After a moment’s pause, she shook her head before bursting into a laughter so hard so that tears came out as she stared at him with bloodshot eyes. “No, you will never be able to repay me no matter how much you try!”
