Chapter 152 Aren’t We Going A Little Overboard?
- Lauren fell silent for a while as she turned to look at the empty bowl by her side. She then poured some of Kate’s soup into it before she brought it to Tyler. “Your sister got someone to make this specially for you, so I’m sure it must be really good. You should have more of it since it’ll help with your recovery!” she said as she handed the bowl over to him. However, Tyler didn’t reach out to take it; instead, he lifted his hand and pointed to the thick, white bandages around his head as he said, “I’m a patient, Lauren!” He’s clearly acting like a spoiled child on purpose; I watched him drink the soup by himself earlier, so why can’t he do it now that I’m here? She blinked a few times, her gaze cold as she glared at him. He’s a sneaky guy, but I should repay him and take care of him since he just saved my life.
- Tyler continued to look at her with his glassy eyes and a pitiful expression. Eventually, Lauren gave up and lifted the bowl in front of her. She blew on the soup to cool it down before she brought the spoon over to his lips. Just then, the injury on her arm revealed itself in front of his eyes. “Did you get injured, Lauren?” he asked frantically, and his hand reached out to hold onto hers before she brushed him off. “I’m fine—it’s just a little scratch. Don’t worry about it!” Lauren shook her head. After a slight pause, she then continued, “You, on the other hand… You’ve been seriously injured because of me!” Upon hearing this, Tyler simply smiled gently as he said, “I’m fine, Lauren. Don’t worry about me; I’ll recover really soon!” She lowered her head and kept quiet, but her grip on the bowl tightened.
- He took the bowl from her and drank it himself before he calmly said, “Dexter called me earlier, Lauren. He told me that he’ll make sure to get to the bottom of this so that he can provide you with a proper explanation!”
