• Ethan remained rooted to his spot even after Kobi had left. His gaze was dark as he looked down at his cell phone, which was playing a video of Lauren’s competition. Watching the video silently, a hint of warmth flickered across his otherwise emotionless eyes as he reached out for the glass of alcohol beside him. Lauren hasn’t changed a bit after all these years; she’s just as eye-catching and mesmerizing as before. Indeed, she can even attract glances from the audience just by standing there in her long dress. It’s a shame that she no longer has her long, black hair that once went all the way to her waist, but she looks pretty decent now. Soon enough, Ethan’s gaze altered into a cold-blooded and furious one as he watched how Tyler brought Lauren into his arms after the metal frame collapsed. Ethan was jealous, and it was written all over his face.
• Later on, he made a call. “Cancel the appointment for tonight, Kobi. We’re going to Cloudfall City tomorrow morning!”
• “The meeting tonight is extremely important, though!” Kobi spoke with respect. “Cancel it!” With a powerful growl, Ethan’s strong voice didn’t leave room for any further arguments. Upon hearing this, Kobi knew that he had no other option, so he calmly replied, “Got it, President Parker!” After he ended the call, Ethan glanced at the dangling accessory from his phone that had landed in his palm. It was beautiful, and his gaze turned into a softer one as he looked at it.
