• Two weeks after my eighteenth birthday, I experienced one of the most intense pains I’ve ever felt. It hurt so much specifically in places I couldn’t tell anyone. I was excited on my birthday because I hoped that I would find my mate. But there was nobody to claim me. I felt that it was going to take some time before I found my mate, but it looked increasingly unlikely that my mate would be in a place like this. A place where everybody hated me for something I was innocent of.
