Chapter 31 Dangerous Warning
- “Do the same for the fourth floor,” he says. Then he turns to me. “Prue, schedule a call with George Duncan for later today. He’s from the West Coast."
- I jot it down in my notes, pretending to know who he is. I hope to find something in Diego’s inbox that tells me who George is. From his tone, I assume the conversation won’t be pleasant. Diego continues, dominating the meeting in a commanding way. The tension radiating from him Is almost tangible. He's under a lot of pressure. Rightly so, I suppose. I can’t imagine what it would be like to open a luxury hotel. Every person around the table keeps their eyes glued to him, as if they don’t want to miss a word.
- He Intimidates them. That would make sense, as he intimidates me a lot. He’s a completely different guy from the patient one who taught me how to wield an axe, the shy one who smiled while holding the wrong tie and admitted to being colorblind, and the vulnerable one I saw crumble by his own fist. His hand sits on his muscular thigh, his fingers strumming a slow, rhythmic beat—the same hand that was gripping his penis so tightly yesterday, pumping it from the root to the tip until he came.
