Chapter 30 I Still Have Work
- My heart starts racing. A nervous vertigo springs from the depths of my chest just at the sight of him, even from so far away. He’s dressed casually in jeans, a checkered jacket, and a charcoal vest peeking out from underneath, with his chestnut hair covered by a beanie. Incredibly sexy, but not exactly the right outfit for the exclusive Lux restaurant. This means he’ll have to come here to change. The nervous fear that had me shut down now hits me like a tsunami.
- Everyone is talking and laughing, patting each other on the back. I guess they enjoyed the tour. Diego follows them, chatting with the pilot—Felipe, I suppose. He hands him something, to which Felipe seems grateful, nodding and shaking his hand before returning to the plane. I hug my body tightly; my cool white blouse isn’t warm enough in fifty-degree weather. I watch until Diego disappears from sight, all the while holding my breath, hoping he looks this way. But he doesn’t even blink.
- Heading back inside, I rush to the desk, hurrying to make sure last-minute emails are opened and resolved before he arrives, squeezing my thighs as my bladder threatens to spill over.
